WELCOME TO MAYA WOLFE'S PORTFOLIO

I find that my art is often around  characters and faces. I’m interested in faces and their complexity as well as motion, specifically people in motion. I like when my art can tell a story through skin complexion or background art style , or any other specific characteristics I give individual characters. Postures and movement in figures exhibits a similar interest in telling stories through physical differences. I find that my process starts with the observation of people that interest me or movement and gestures that give an action that can be compared to a fantasy character. This ideal of stories and movements stems from my love of video games and music. Things that inspire me like these topics tell a story and create. Complexities that allow the audience to create their own narratives and grow along the story. In all that is what my art is about people's growth and stories. I choose to represent these ideals through drawing , and through digital mediums. I tend to draw in black and white and struggle to draw in color. My digital art has a different style than my traditional art. The digital art I make focuses on a more graphic style that appeals to colors and cuter characteristics that embody a pop art style , whereas my traditional works focus on sharp features and dramatically shaded faces as well as figures in dramatic poses.
